Hi Concetta,
I know how nerve racking my 1st time painting class (my 1st painting professional class ever) was. Thank you for all the efforts you went through to make it happen! How was my 1st painting class?
Learned a lot, did lots of sweet beginner mistakes all class (was to be expected), but learned a ton. I so appreciate the basics you are teaching us, your professional explanations of details of all the technicalities involved, like how to do the color palette, create the value colors (“pat, pat, pat”), how to spread the color on canvas, what brushes type and sizes to use at every step of the painting process, things to be considered when applying different shades, colors and values on the canvas.
Wishing you an amazing weekend. I am watching your video of the class again now to sink well into it. I see all my mistakes so clear now….
With so much love and gratitude for all that you are teaching us all,
Your magic student,

P.S. And I agree with you that oil painting is so forgiving. I am not so afraid of it anymore of making mistakes, I’m just enjoying the process of creation now.
Just wanted to tell you how much I am looking forward to painting tomorrow night. Last week, for the first time in a long time, I felt that feeling of contentment and satisfaction that is rare these days! I get it from baking, too. It’s that thing that is unchanged in our world that is changing so quickly each day. It’s something to count on and anticipate — and then when it turns out good it’s like HOORAY, YIPPEE, THAT WAS SURE FUN! LET’S DO IT AGAIN! XOXOXOXO

I have been taking painting classes with Concetta for nearly 10 years in San Diego. Her amazing vision and creativity combined with her gift for communicating disciplined and structured step-by-step painting techniques is a winning and rare combination. Over the years when my schedule did not sync up with Concetta’s I have taken classes elsewhere and have not found a teacher this gifted, patient and encouraging anywhere else. Thank you Concetta for sharing your gifts with so many!
