The Salon of Art Gallery returns to La Jolla. Like a phoenix rising from the long forgotten space on the corner of Fay & Kline, the new destination was lovingly resurrected and filled with color, creativity and beautiful people…

Last Friday night was illuminated with uber color and fantastic energy as the ribbon was cut on The Color Queen’s latest artistic conjuring. The grand opening of the new stunning headquarters, and 8th location of world renowned artist and muse Concetta Antico, is now officially open! Crowds of art lovers, Concetta’s beloved students both past and present, and many San Diego dignitaries all enjoyed the enchanting evening celebration.
Violin melodies from Mr. Christoper Vitas, delicious beverages and morsels by Julie Oaks from Jots catering, and complimentary Tarot readings by Anya were enjoyed, and all while gazing at Concetta’s Tetrachromatic masterpieces and merchandise offerings. Other artistic offerings included beautiful hand-carvings by Tyra Yaki, hand-painted postcards by “Yolie”, Pottery by Felix Dang, silk creations by Marjorie Pezzoli and unique vintage confectionaries and antiques.
Ribbon cutting was a highlight courtesy of the La Jolla Merchant’s Association, as Concetta quipped “…from Birdrock in 1995 and now back to La Jolla 30 years later, I couldn’t be more delighted to be here again”. Such a memorable and magical night was had by all, with a very warm welcome to Concetta, endeared by so many San Diegans for her long career of sharing her artistic gifts with others.

For over 30 years, Concetta has taken budding novices to aficionados with her the Oil Painting methodologies, her latest class graduates at her new studio location now on Fay in La Jolla is no exception.

“I was delighted to begin teaching again after a short break, and some travels, and having some of my past students come back to the easel fold! My new students did not disappoint with their wonderful enthusiasm and desire to learn to paint”, she remarked.
With the latest January session now complete, Concetta wishes to acknowledge how proud she is of her existing and new student’s recent accomplishments! Are they coming back to create a second masterpiece in February? You bet! Classes are full for February and filling for March.
